The beloved NYC band return with a massive new single

Chanpan have been building toward a moment like this for a while now. Formed out of Chinatown, NYC, where the band first started busking together, the trio quickly began turning heads through sold out shows, chaotic live clips, and tours alongside Haru Nemuri and Post Animal. Now, they return with “confessions part iii,” the latest single from their upcoming EP autogratis, due June 25. Built around eerie pitched-up vocals, blown out guitars, and a cathartic chorus, the song pushes the band’s sound into new territory while still holding onto the experimental instincts and unpredictability that’s made them one of New York’s most exciting new bands to watch.

For autogratis, the band reunited with key collaborators including producer Frankie Scoca, while also bringing in new contributors like Louie Lastic (Kali Uchis, Destin Conrad) and Taydex & Wes Singerman (Joji, Keshi), among others.

The accompanying Patrick Linehan-directed video pulls directly from the band’s early days busking in Chinatown, where Grace Dumdaw and identical twin brothers Lance and Matthew Tran first started playing together while raising money to record their debut EP, endlessly.
