Go Full “Strange World”
Wet Leg’s “Pokemon” Is a Strange Little Universe of Its Own
The band Wet Leg have just released a surreal new video for their single “pokemon,” directed by Elliott Arndt (of tour-mates/frequent collaborators Faux Real). In the clip, hyper-pop artist Alice Longyu Gao plays a character in a bizarre, dreamlike relationship with a giant egg — a fittingly strange addition to Wet Leg’s off-kilter visual style. The video also features lead singer Rhian Teasdale, maintaining the band’s signature blend of irreverence and uncanny imagery. The track appears on their 2025 album Moisturizer — the band’s second studio LP, which marks a major evolution in both sound and lineup: longtime touring members Henry Holmes (drums), Ellis Durand (bass), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar/synth) have now become full-fledged members, giving the group a richer, more expansive sound that critics have praised.
Now, Wet Leg are heading into a busy live season — after wrapping up a UK & Ireland tour (including a recent sold-out show at the legendary Royal Albert Hall), they’ll be returning to the United States for more shows starting early December, followed by festival appearances and a 2026 stretch that includes performances in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and a European summer tour.
If you like — I can also give a full list of their upcoming tour dates worldwide (with venues) so you can see if they’ll be playing near you.
