Gearing Up for a Storied New Year
Angel Du$t Stoke the Fire Again as They Gear Up for a Storied New Year
Baltimore’s Angel Du$t are barreling into their next era with a run of standout singles, and their latest drop, “DU$T,” feels like the true ignition point. It’s a wild, sprinting blast of a song — sharp-edged, breakneck, and rooted squarely in the band’s hardcore lineage — yet still unmistakably threaded with the melodic looseness and off-kilter charm that’s carried them through the last ten years. The video amplifies that spirit perfectly: a riot of color, jump-cuts, and joyful chaos, leaning into the band’s gift for making punk aggression feel welcoming, clever, and fun. “DU$T” arrives as part of the rollout for Angel Du$t’s newly unveiled album Cold 2 The Touch, out February 13, 2026 via Run For Cover Records, hinting at a more stripped-down, tough-edged direction after the shimmering alt-rock curveballs of 2023’s Brand New Soul.
The track also builds on an especially productive stretch for the band. Earlier this year they issued a tight, two-song 7” — “The Beat” and “The Knife” — both of which nudged them toward the raw, lunging sound they’re now fully embracing. Layer that on top of a few years of eclectic singles, videos, and stylistic detours — from the roadside looseness of YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs to the power-pop bite of Brand New Soul — and it’s clear Angel Du$t have been quietly laying the groundwork for this shift. “DU$T,” with all its swagger and forward motion, doesn’t just introduce the album; it captures a band operating in full sprint, confident in the messiness, momentum, and relentless creativity that define this moment.
