Big Breaks, Packed Shows, and the Rise of HEADSEND

HEADSEND are an Australian band from the outskirts of Byron Bay, formed by brothers and professional surfers Kyuss and Rasmus King alongside drummer Bon Soric. Built on heavy, grunge-leaning riffs and a restless sense of drive, their sound favors tension and physicality over polish — music that feels lived-in, loud, and deliberately unrefined.

Their latest single, “And Angel,” widens the frame. Woozier and more melodic than earlier releases, the track introduces a more expansive emotional register while retaining the weight that defined past cuts like “Stove” and “Chugg.”Recorded live in the studio, HEADSEND’s material captures the same immediacy that’s become central to their reputation on stage. Production work with Nick DiDia and Mike Crossey reinforces that performance-first approach.

Coming up through Byron Bay’s surf culture — where the King brothers were once known as “super groms” — HEADSEND bring that same full-commit energy into their live shows. With new releases slated for 2026 and U.S. touring ahead, the band are sharpening a sound that feels grounded, physical, and well-tuned to the current moment.
