The Lafayette, Louisiana band revisit the title track from their debut EP on Julia’s War Recordings.
Lafayette, Louisiana’s Cashier have shared a new video for “The Weight,” the title track from their debut EP of the same name. Directed by Jack Sundblad and Jackson Gefen, the video arrives a few months after the six-song EP dropped in March via Julia’s War Recordings.
Cashier have been building something pretty special out of Louisiana, pulling together shoegaze, grunge, post-hardcore and indie rock without sounding like another band chasing the current guitar revival. Look, there’s definitely a little Dinosaur Jr. in there, but that’s okay! The Weight was their first release for Julia’s War, the ridiculously good Philadelphia label whose current roster includes They Are Gutting a Body of Water, Her New Knife, Glixen, Joyer and more. Cashier have spent the last couple of years touring hard, sharing stages with Dinosaur Jr., Whirr, Nothing and Narrow Head, and the band is already working toward its first LP.
