Seoul-to-Brazil, club-ready pop
HEYOON returns with Seriously Unserious, a four-track EP built around a simple idea — don’t overthink it. Raised in South Korea and now splitting time between Seoul and Los Angeles, she first broke through as a member of Now United, the Simon Fuller–created global pop group that toured 30+ countries and released over 100 songs, before launching her solo career in 2024 with “Pivot” alongside Armani White via Universal Music Group Korea. Since then, she’s continued to shape a more defined solo identity, working with collaborators like Chris Patrick and producer Dale Becker (known for work with Billie Eilish and Doja Cat).
“Swipe,” featuring Brazil’s Lou Garcia, leads the EP as its most immediate track — a club-ready pop record that leans into the disposable rhythms of swipe-era connection without stretching the concept. The production stays clean and direct, letting the vocal interplay drive things forward, while the Rough Choi–directed video matches that tone with a polished, performance-first approach. Built to be fun and not overthought, the project is a controlled step forward from HEYOON as she continues building a global pop presence on her own terms.
