A story of exile and endurance

New York–based trio Joudy (pronounced “howdy”), originally formed in San Cristóbal, Venezuela, return with their latest single, “Nail.” After leaving Venezuela amid political unrest and eventually rebuilding in NYC, the band has carved out a sound rooted in urgency and emotional weight, each release pushing them further into darker, more volatile territory.

“Nail” feels like a turning point. It captures the moment when internal doubt stops being a burden and becomes armor. As frontman Diego Ramirez puts it, it’s the point “when self-blame turns into self-protection” — a shift that transforms exhaustion into resolve.

Directed by Gabriel Duque, the video leans into that tension. Fast, fragmented, and restless, it follows the band on the run, cut with flashes of what they’ve left behind. The unease is constant, pulling you straight into the song’s emotional center.
