The Tenacious Chaos Continues
Originally emerging from Brooklyn’s underground punk scene, Surfbort have built a reputation for turning chaos into something strangely joyful. Led by frontwoman Dani Miller, the band channels the spirit of classic punk—equal parts confrontation and celebration—crafting colorful, feedback-drenched anthems that reject cynicism and make space for love, inclusion, and misfit community. Their mantra is simple: everyone is welcome in the Surfbort Freak Family.
Now based in Los Angeles, the band returns with the new video for “Hot Dog,” directed by Pooneh Ghana and out now via TODO Records. The track arrives ahead of their upcoming third studio album Reality Star, due out Friday, March 6, 2026, and captures the band at their most chaotic and magnetic.
Over the years Surfbort have built a cult following both onstage and off, sharing bills with artists like Idles, Wolf Alice, The Garden, The Dickies, Fat White Family, and Viagra Boys while bringing their explosive live show everywhere from sweaty clubs to Coachella stages.
That spirit has also attracted some notable champions. Julian Casablancas brought the band into the Cult Records orbit early on, while legendary producer Linda Perry later signed them and released their 2021 album Keep On Truckin’. Along the way Surfbort have built a world that stretches beyond music—appearing in Gucci campaigns, collaborating across scenes, and releasing videos starring everyone from Fred Armisen to Tony Hawk.
With “Hot Dog” and Reality Star on the horizon, Surfbort continue doing what they’ve always done best: turning punk’s rawest instincts into something loud, weird, and unmistakably their own.
